Albert George Rockwell

June 29, 1918 – March16, 2002

 

Albert George Rockwell was a 1940 graduate from Stanford University, and received a MD in 1944 from Stanford University.  He died at the age of 83 in Waikoloa Village, Hawaii. At Stanford University, he majored in the biological sciences, he was a member of the Stanford University track and field team and Delta Tau Delta.  During World War II, he served as a Navy doctor in the Pacific. He had a medical practice at the Palo Alto Medical Clinic for six years before moving to Seattle and becoming a partner in the Seattle Head and Neck Group, pioneering stapes ear surgery in the late 1950s. He retired in 1987 and moved to Waikoloa Village, Hawaii, where he was a president and a director for Waikoloa Bridge Club. His survivors include his wife, Frances; four sons, Gregory, James, George and Robert; two daughters, Mary Abbott and Lynn; 13 grandchildren; his sister; and his former wife, Kathleen.

 

George and Frances were cheerful players at the Waikoloa Bridge Club.  George was also a golf partner for the extended bridge club family and spouses.  Frances has moved back to the mainland to be closer to her family.  They are missed in Hawaii.
